Site-specific Instagram filter for Aragon Park graffiti




Like a Marian apparition of an entity from another time that lingers in the present, the voice of the environment takes on agency, materializing in one of the graffiti that inhabit Aragon Park. This voice alerts us to an earlier state of the space: the natural splendor before the ruin. _Welcome Pack_ is a site-specific Instagram filter that activates, via a smartphone, only in the designated location. Positioned between the real, the digital, and the hauntological, the piece reflects on what could have been and what (still) is not.  

Filtros JUYMA is an artistic duo formed by Juan De Andrés Arias and Miguel Ángel Tornero. Utilizing Instagram filters (which were available until January 14th, 2025, and are now defunct), they explore the intersection of emerging technological tools for domestic use and established forms of artistic production.
