"With the same spirit of change and aiming to erase the 'material footprint' per capita, artists Marta Galindo and Juan De Andrés Arias have proposed another game that transforms the buying and selling system based on monetary patterns, returning to the collaboration and benefit generated by exchange: bartering. In a more complicated operation than originally imagined, a reflection of how deeply ingrained consumerist practices are today and the mistrust generated by a proposal with no profit intent, they started a network of exchanges offering to trade an old Monopoly game. The board and pieces were exchanged for a candlestick, which led to a tricycle, a suitcase, a keyboard, a glass head, a vacuum cleaner, and finally, an electric heater that is now ready to be used in their studio during the winter (...) It is not an image either, but this image condenses the result of this attempt to change the system. In this way, formally adopting the codes of advertising language to subvert it, each object is digitally transformed into the next, promoting in its slogan another form of consumption. (…) In this way, they contribute to a common reflection within the entire project 'Not Only What, But Also How,' where decelerationism and the creation of new rules outside all systems of exploitation shape our idea of the future."
