TAKE THE FLOOR proposes a space for experimentation and rehearsal, where various investigations converge, with the act of speaking up taking on particular significance. It is a space characterized by horizontality: different voices feed off and influence one another, facilitating a conversation akin to a Twitch chat, where words, gestures, and images intertwine and complement each other.

TAKE THE FLOOR, which translates into Spanish as “tomar la palabra” but literally means “take the ground”, points to the landing of different artistic investigations that take both the ground and the word. The relationship between ground and word, the horizontal arrangement of the works or their tendency to fall like a drip, the idea of landing, as well as the vital moment of speaking up experienced by participants, situates us in a space where solidity fades in favor of a liquid terrain on which to attempt to settle.

Thus, the artistic practices featured in the exhibition find themselves in a stage surrounded by trial and error—a formative period whose resulting works take on a speculative dimension regarding each artist’s process. TAKE THE FLOOR envisions a landing in a liquid environment where taking the floor becomes a complex task—a vital moment where one's voice, in tune with a collective in which to integrate, finds a place to take final shape.
